“Sacred Places” published in Nature Vision Magazine
Back in April I submitted an idea for a personal essay I had been working on to Nature Vision Magazine, a photography and creativity journal run by photographers who I have looked up to for quite some time. To my surprise, the journal’s Editor Cody Schultz responded favorably, saying he believed the article was worthy of publication!
Today, the quarterly Fall issue finally dropped and my piece was featured alongside work by over a dozen photographers and writers whose work I admire. I am deeply honored to have my words and images appear next to Chuck Kimmerle, Alberto Rodriguez-Garcia, Eric Bennett, Matt Oliver, Viktoria Haack, and many others.
Finding adequate language to express just how grateful I am for the opportunity is no easy task. It’s one thing to be complimented by close friends and family from time to time, but to be recognized by the nature photography community in this way feels very special.
Nature Vision is a creation of Nature Photographers Network, a valuable online resource for creatives whose work to educate and inspire photographers spans many years. I am a member of NPN and, though I am basically inactive on their forums (photo critiques or otherwise), I have gained a large amount of knowledge and inspiration from their unique content over the past couple of years.
I can’t post the actual article here but certainly encourage anyone reading to subscribe to Nature Vision, or at least download the Fall issue to see what they are all about. Follow this link to check them out: npn.link/naturevision.
Join Nature Photographers Network, too, if you are looking to learn more about photography, need occasional inspiration, enjoy community-based learning, or could use the occasional kick in the butt to get outside! The folks among NPN’s forums are some of the most helpful and welcoming I have ever had the good fortune of meeting.
